Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her real name Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first released her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her independent single Bound. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. In the following calendar, her songs was circulating throughout Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had been contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that was written by her and Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and also performed as the opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she was able to appear on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video later released in September. In November, she dropped two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 two new singles titled No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song, made available with a video posted on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first 7 days. In December of 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
