Louisa Krause was born in New York City. Her most well-known role was Anna Garner, the main character of The Girl Experience. Brenda Woodberg is her debut film character. She played Brenda Woodberg in Babysitters. Krause made her debut as a drama major at the college level, after which she appeared in a variety of off-Broadway shows and New York based TV shows. Professionally, her father is of a Japanese heritage and her mother is from the United States. Nathaniel is her older brother. He is younger than her, works as a filmmaker. Her interest in arts began at an early stage when she began studying dance at Washington School of Ballet, Washington D.C. She then began to take part in a variety of musicals as well as plays written by Bill Russell and Henry Krieger such as Side Show. Following high school, Krause was accepted into the Carnegie Mellon Drama School. Her professional life began after she felt ready. Her Equity certificate by appearing in a musical production of Aida. Louisa Krause was first involved in the theatre. She was a part of the Huntington Theatre Company's production. She played Iphigenia in the Signature Theatre Company's Iphigenia 2 production in 2007.
