Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for playing the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her role as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney is the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by her four siblings. She dreamed of being a reporter for the court in her early years, but began modeling at high school, eventually earning commercials following her move into New York. Her first role as an actor was as a teenager on All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Delaney was a talented young actress from the 1980s has appeared in a variety of TV films and in dramas. In contrast to her impressive professional career, Delaney's private life isn't as happy and prosperous. The actress, who is talented and stunning, has had to battle addiction to alcohol in the past. Her marriages have also ended in failure twice. She lost custody of her son in 2005.
